2020 December Monthly Challenge
1. Happy December Birthday!:
🎅Read a book published in December, or a book with a blue or green cover in honor of December's birthstone, the Turquoise.
2. December Flowers of the Month - Narcissus and Holly: The December flowers of the month symbolize hope, wealth, protection and defense.
🎅Read a book featuring a wealthy character or one who works to protect and defend others. Or read a book that gives you hope for better days to come.
3. Featured Author Challenge - Eli Easton:
🎅Read a book by this month's Featured Author, Eli Easton, or by any author with one of her first or last names.
Fun Facts about Eli Easton:
★ She currently writes m/m romance, but in her past also wrote paranormal mysteries.
★ She wrote her first m/m romance in 2013 and has since added over 30 more.
★ She lives on a farm in Pennsylvania with her husband and many animals, all are female except her husband!
★ Being a total Christmas sap, she has written several holiday-themed romances.
🎅So you may also read any book set in Pennsylvania. You can also read any book published in 2013. Or you can read any book shelved as LGBTQ+, Paranormal, holiday or their equivalents.
4. Santa's List Day - December 4: Naughty or Nice? That's up to you!
🎅Read a book that is either naughty or nice or even a little bit of both!
5. Take it in the Ear Day - December 5: My favorite way to read is by listening to a well narrated book! Sometimes even reading along.
🎅Listen to a book, or read one available as an audiobook. Or you can read a book showing ears on the cover.
6. Poinsettia Day - December 12: The Christmas Flower from Mexico.
🎅Read a book with a red cover, one with flowers on the cover or one featuring a Latinx character.
7. Winter Solstice -Dec. 21: This is the shortest day, but the longest night. (Reverse that if you are in the southern hemisphere.)
🎅Read a book under 200 pages or over 300 pages to celebrate this change of season.
8. Festivus (for the rest of us!) - December 23: Celebrate anything you wish! New book by a favorite author? Celebrate by reading it! Love reading on a rainy day - celebrate by doing that.
🎅Read a book to celebrate whatever you wish - we all need more celebrations as we head out of this decade long year.
9. New Year’s Eve - December 31: The end of 2020 - who isn’t looking forward to that!?
🎅Ring out the old by reading something that has been on your to-read shelf for over a year. Or one of the oldest books on your to read shelf if you are newer to GR.
